A PDF works for reading results, but some clients want the numbers themselves so they can filter them, run their own calculations, or drop them into a deck.
Report automations can now attach an Excel file to the email as well. You can send the PDF, the Excel file, or both in the same email. The Excel file is much smaller than the PDF, usually a few hundred KB.
