New aggregation options for custom metrics
We’ve expanded how custom metrics are calculated and displayed, unlocking more accurate formulas, better time-based metrics, and advanced use cases like weighted averages.

- New value types: Seconds & Milliseconds
You can now correctly display duration-based metrics such as average session duration, page load time, or video watch time—without workarounds.
- Aggregation method selector
Choose how values are combined, not just summed. New aggregation options include:
Sum, Average, First,
and Last
.This lays the groundwork for broader support across Blends and Source Groups as well.
- Aggregation level selector
Control when a formula is applied:
Aggregate level (default):
Aggregate data first, then apply the formulaRow level:
Apply the formula per row, then aggregate the resultsThis enables more advanced calculations, like weighted averages, that weren’t possible before.
This guide walks through value types, aggregation methods, aggregation levels, and when to use each, step by step.
As always, if you have questions or feedback, reach out via live chat, we’d love to hear how you’re using these new options.
