With this update,
we are making your work on building reports and dashboards more efficient
and way faster! You can apply filters, change data sources, reset, and perform other actions simultaneously for any number of widgets. Select them as a group (by holding
ctrl
or cmd
when clicking) and see the new capabilities. Here are all the things you can do with widget groups (we also explore them in the video above):
- Move widget groups.
- Duplicate.
- Change date ranges and settings.
- Change data sources.
- Apply filters.
- Reset date ranges for selected widgets to a report's date range.
- Change the number displayed and the currency symbol.
- Change visual appearance.
Pro Tip: Quickly build tabs with filters applied (as reader-facing filters)
Now, you can easily create a multi-tab report or dashboard with the same widgets in all tabs, but each tab can act as a filtering option for your reader to pick from.
- Create a no-filter layout in your first tab.
- Duplicate the tab and rename it to a desired filtering option (like "Contains X" or "Device Type")
- Select all the widgets in the new tab and apply the filter in the "Data source" sidebar section.
- Repeat if needed and share.
This is a way to create a report with different filtering options for a client or stakeholder in just a few clicks.
